Foundations Forum’s purpose is to assist people including people with disability, their family members, carers, support workers and human service organisations to understand the social barriers to accessing an ordinary, meaningful life. The work Foundations Forum does is also relevant to people with mental health challenges, older people, refugees, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and people at risk of homelessness.
We offer positive strategies for creating the conditions which are more likely to lead to a meaningful life for people who are marginalised and for them to be able to access mainstream services, increase motivation to participate socially and economically and uphold their protection of their human rights. We achieve this purpose through capacity-building, online community forums and by conducting training and learning events.
More than 30 years ago, Foundations Forum changed from a group of concerned people to an Association Incorporated in NSW. Foundations Forum Inc. has continued to build strong relationships with community and human services. We only operate in NSW but have strong relationships with similar organisations across Australia.
